i like the idea of fewer slots in that it increases the importance of each piece of eq. my game has plentiful slots, but a lot of them i would say are optional. there's a slot for cloaks, and necklace and rings, etc. they're cool, but not required. and it's not very common to come across mobs with all their slots full. another thing to think about i think is how much "eq swapping" is a part of your game. i have resists in my game, so eq swapping is a thing, and i can see the benefit of simpler inventory juggling with fewer slots. |

I played my fair share of text-based games when I was younger. And while I like the idea of nostalgia and homage, I think there is something, that if it were simplified, would save a lot of time and effort. The old games had 10 to 12 slots for equipment, generally. Face, Head, Hands, Arms, Rings, and so on. A lot of that was because of D&D and other games. Now, newer things and mobile games have no more than six, usually three. I think that's a good trend. I think about Honkai Impact 3rd that have Stigmata's in 3, Star Rail that has Light Cones, and MSL that have gems and trinkets.
What does everyone else think about this? I'm thinking one major piece of equipment and then maybe three slots for add-ons and substats.
