Classical game theory, a well-developed branch of mathematics, finds its application almost in all fields of interest starting from Biology to Business, Physics to Political science and so on. Bringing the rules of quantum mechanics into the domain of traditional classical game theory has led to some of the interesting and striking results. With an intention to construct quantum algorithms effectively, game theoretic approach to quantum strategies is introduced. Over the years, many interesting results have emerged in the research area of quantum game theory. In the recent times, implementation of games in the quantum circuits has started to emerge.
Main objective of this collection issue is to understand and to appreciate the significance as well as the applications of quantum game theory from the quantum and statistical mechanics point of view. This collection issue invites contributions from the researchers using game theoretic approach to study quantum mechanics, quantum information theory, quantum cryptography and so on. Through this special issue, researchers shall shed light on the potential applications of quantum game theory.
