L2 and R2 triggers do not function when playing PS2 games on a backward-compatible (launch model) PS3 through the BT2USB adapter.

• Adapter: BT2USB (Adafruit board)
• Controller: 8BitDo Ultimate 2 (also tested with other controllers — same result)
• Console: PS3 (backward-compatible launch model, playing PS2 games)
• Firmware: Latest

When playing PS2 games on PS3, the console enters a special USB mode that shuts down most USB devices. Joypad-os is one of very few adapters that continues to work in this mode (even the Brook Wingman XE2 patched out this ability). However, L2/R2 triggers do not register.

The user suspects this is related to analog-to-digital trigger conversion happening on the fly in PS2 mode.

"If this could be somehow fixed you would easily have the best controller adapter for PS3."
